About Precision Costing

Precision Costing prepares construction cost estimates and quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications. We work remotely for clients with projects in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada.

Who we work with

Most requests come from general contractors preparing bids, subcontractors who need their trade scope measured, developers and owners checking budgets, and material suppliers quoting from a customer’s plans. The work ranges from a single trade takeoff to a full project estimate.

See the service list for the trades and project types we cover, and how estimating works for estimate types and the request process.

How we approach an estimate

Quantities you can check
Quantities are measured from the drawings and tied to specific elements, rooms or areas, so you can trace a number back to the plan it came from.
Assumptions written down
Anything the drawings do not settle — allowances, exclusions, waste factors, pricing date — is stated in the estimate instead of being buried in a unit rate.
Your format, your scope
Estimates follow the breakdown you bid with: by trade, by CSI division, by NRM element or by the owner’s bid form.

Have drawings ready?

Send the plans, specifications and the scope you need priced. We review the documents and reply with any questions and a quote for the estimate.
